Love my Zune
This is my 2nd Zune. I have upgraded from a 30 g to an 80g. I must say after ALL the mp3 players I have had. I love the Zunes! They are well made and easy to use! Although they don't come with an equalizer they do sound pretty good. Of course you need to upgrade your earphones as the earphones that come with it are not that great. However, there are always upgrades!
All I can say if you don't want to be part of the IPOD pack... Buy a Zune! You won't be dissapointed!

Pure Garbage. Google ZUNE Album Art for proof
First one i kept hanging and finally froze. Received a replacement XMAS eve day and during syncing I had to keep reconnecting due to Zune stopped responding. Finally after I loaded my 214 albums on it the album art never displayed.
Did a search on the net to find many users having the same problem. Some blamed the upgrade, others claimed it was a DRM (digital rights issue)which sounded nuts to me being the MP3 albums loaded, just no album art.
Called the help sevice, what a disaster, the idiot didn't have a clue and its use of the English language was pathetic.
The idiot kept saying it was something I was doing wrong and I kept telling this fool all my album art appeared on my first zune. All I did was tell the software which was already populated due to my first zune was to sync to my new zune.
I can't deal with these idiots any longer, I now want my money back. Can't stand Apple but it looks like I don't have any choice as I need large storage to back up my extensive collection.

Premium device, not so premium headphones
Ok so i bought this the other day, not wanting to buy an ipod (i hate apple :P). It arrives... super. Here's where the fun starts.
Device: The device itself is really really nice. Solid build (prefer the glass cover and metal case to the plastic crap on the 120) - and quite slim. The contrast and resolution of the screen are great, really nice crisp images with beautiful colour. The touchpad works great, and it is very easy to navigate anywhere through the interface.
Software: I don't know what a lot of people have been complaining about. The software really isn't that bad. Admittedly there was a slight hiccup between the zune software and WMP (ironically) where it made albums with "various artists" split up into seperate albums for each artists' song. Took a little while to get it all back to normal but that was fine. The sync function is a little slow, but does the job and doesn't hog resources too badly so you can let it run in the background.
I'm not a big fan of the fact that the unit doesn't even support AVI files - i really hope that is rectified at some point because that is one of the most universal video file types out there.
Headphones: Ok so let's get something straight. The headphones... well they aren't CRAP but they certainly aren't awesome - especially for someone who likes bass. I'm a pretty big music lover and i listen to everything - death metal, techno, jazz, rap, classical - all that stuff. So it's all on there. But there is a distinct lack of bass being produced by these headphones. Honestly i was expecting much better quality (from the other reviews i'd read). So that's been the one major downfall - i think i'll have to buy a new set that handles some bass.
I usually don't overly like in-ear headphones, but these fit quite nicely and do a superb job of blocking outside sound. That was a surprise.
Features: So down to the last bit. I literally only got this item today, so i've spent a large amount of time syncing all sorts of stuff onto it - so i haven't had a massive amount of time to play with all the features. The games seem ok - decent time wasters. I'm in Australia so the social network thing doesn't operate down here (hopefully that will change when the NZ place is built).
Summary:
Over all this is a very solid mp3 player. The lack of EQ does nothing to diminish sound quality, and all the implemented features on the interface work really well. Apart from the slight disappointment with the headphones, this is a really great product!
Hope this helps any potential buyers :)

Zune
Outstanding technology. I fully recommend it.
The only glitch with it is unit's battery life. The charging time is high and the use time low considering the price. While it wouldn't prevent me from buying another (I have purchased two - one for a gift and one for myself - at different times) I wish Microsoft would pay more attention to the battery.

Wish this was an I-Pod
April 25th I bought an 80gb zune. That day and since I've added a leather case, hard protective case, car pack, home media pack, and the book "how to do everything with your zune." I can't do everything. I can't get rid of the horrible music videos microsoft dumped on it before I bought it. Videos freeze up. A player this expensive should come with a program to format DVDs to zune. I looked on line to get help from the zune site. They say to go to the forums. Couldn't get in. It even said I hadn't bought the points needed. Next time I tried to sign in my password wasn't accepted. I asked for a new one. didn't receive an e-mail. Happened again. Called Zune. The recording went through the (SO CALLED) legitimate problems they would help you with. They told me to go to their web site. Which sends me to forums, which won't let me......etc. .......etc. around and around!!!!!
The bigger screen is nice. The accessories are great...but, not if you can't get the thing working.
Wish we'd bought our MAC before I bought the zune....
I want to get an I-Pod. There are trade offs, (smaller screen) but, if I can actually use it and buy things on I tunes that I don't have to reformat to use I will be thrilled.
Zune is microsofts answer to the I-Pod. It's a whisper with nothing backing it up but a lot of hot air!!!!
"APPLE" anyone?
