Good basic docking station for the iPod Classic
This docking station is compatible with the iPod Classic. Various sources on and offline, including the manual that ships with the dock, are unclear about that. The sound is pretty good for a small, fairly inexpensive speaker. It's better in the treble and middle registers than in the bass, but my (relatively inexpert) ear didn't detect significant distortion. If you want to play music for twenty people having a little party in your living room, this speaker alone would probably suffice. If you need an excessive amount of bass, or want to use it for dozens of people in a large space, you'd need something else. The remote handles play/pause, previous/next track, and volume. To select music, you need to use the scroll wheel on the iPod itself.

Should Be Pulled From the Shelves
This won't charge newer ipods or iphones or the itouch. 3 were bought as Christmas presents, they are all being returned because it won't charge our ipods. I called JBL, they said I should have gotten the On Stage III. It charges new and old models. If there is a new model out, why is this still being sold? It's especially troubling when the package clearly states that it charges all ipod models. At the very least, slap a sticker on the front of the box showing what models it is compatible with.

Great sound / does not charge new nano
Great sound for such a small system. VERY upset that it does NOT charge the Nano 4th gen. I would not have bought if I knew. It says "charges ALL docking ipods" Well I called tech support and they said that this is an older model and it does NOT charge the new ipod nano. Other than that, this is really a great product, sound and quality.

It's great but sounds like it's losing some bass.
After a few days of buying this from Amazon it started to lose some bass. It's great for an alarm clock. You can set the alarm on your Ipod and leave the device on.
The remote is awesome.

Does not charge new ipods!!
Good sound, but I am VERY disappointed that it doesn't charge the newer nano. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd have known that.
